What Type For Fishfinder?
i have been looking to purchase a fish finder but dont know which one is better..humminbird vs. furnuno vs. garmin. the furnuno was $1500 while the others were like 200-300$ range, which is best. and the furnuno had a much larger veiwing screen..(dont let price change your opinion on which is best, i dont care how much i have to spend i just want a good one!)
Thanks

three most important features in a fish finder: resolution, resolution, resolution!
get the most vertical pixels per inch you can afford. and color is great if you can afford it.
my opinion, the furunu is probably worth the $$$
I guess we all have our preferences, the thing is you need to figure out what “you need” for the fishing that you do now and if the unit you decide on has easy to program and use features for now and the fishing you easily might expand into. If power gets lost if battery back ups will save programed fishing spots or not is key. Having to re input all the time (which is what a buddy of mine had to do) is the worst. I never had a problem with mine and the digital images of fish on the bottom differentiated species better than units I have been with others on the water fishing with that didn’t and their units cost much more. So finding what you want and need and then finding it on closeout, (add the word closeout in your search by make and model) on line will save a bundle as well. I can easily add that newmar is the foremost in marine electronics power products and you might want to check them out to power your boat.
I personally would stay away from Hummingbird products. Other than that you will be able to find similar products at similar prices from all the other brands. I personally use Lowrance electronics but I like Raymarine, Garmin and Furnuno. Look around before making a choice
Hi there, I observed this blog once, then lost it. Took me forever to arrive back and find it. I wanted to view what comments you got. Very good blog by the way.
