Where is the sending units mounted? How is it mounted?
Sounds like when you get on plane the transducer is loosing contact with the bottom.
Try adjusting it so it is flat with the water and the line that joins the two pieces together ( on the transducer) are even with the water line when sitting.
Can also try adjusting you settings, depth, and ping (how fast the transducer sends out a signal) to the maximum it will allow.
To keep this short try going here (eagles troubleshooting guide) and see what you can find.http://www.eaglenav.com/en/Support/Troub…
Good luck and they can be a pain at times to get set right.

Golden Feather gave a good answer. Although it may mention it in the troubleshooting guide, I suspect what is known as "cavitation". That's where the bubbles created from the prop disrupt the signal from reaching the bottom. ( That may be what Golden Feather was alluding to.) I'm not sure exactly where your transducer is located but It may be a simple fix by an adjustment on your finder or redirecting your transducer to something a bit more tricky like moving your transducer.
Check your owners manual for anything pertaining to what you have seen posted here..between us all we should get it right.
