Garmin Gps Looses Sat Reception When Fish Finder Switched On. Any One Know Why?

My GPS and fishfinder are mounted side by side on the dash of my boat. I have seen many people with the same configuration on their boat. I have never heard of this problem. Is it feed back from the fish finder? Static elect?

The fish finder transmits an RF freq. that might mask the low power from the SAT that the GPS needs to give your location. You might try shielding the GPS antenna or move it as far away from your DF as possible. Put the GPS antenna on a pole with a ground plane plate under it.

Try giving Garmin Tech Support a call at 1-800-800-1020. Maybe they can help troubleshoot your unit.
    Good Luck
