Fishing!!!!?

Okay, I live in West Des Moines, IA and lately I have been fishing with some of my friends. Obviously the ice melted about a month ago and I need to know, What is the best way to catch big fishing or catfish in a local pond?????

Toss a nightcrawler (worm) on a hook with a sinker and toss it out. let it sit on the bottom and wait for a tap on the line. set the hook and youre good to go. Pretty easy stuff. Thats the most simple rig I can think of.
Good luck and let the big ones go!!!

Shad guts, cut shad, chicken liver, bait shrimp, stink bait. Catfish love that stuff. Dew worms. Do you have bass in the pond? You mentioned “big fish” I like to jig fish with plastic worms for bass. Good luck.

Talk to other fisherman who have caught large fish. Go to the bait store and ask for advise.

I have found that chicken livers work very well for catfish, the stinkier the better. Also some places in Illinois the fisherman swear by corn. I have seen big catfish taken on corn threaded on a hook.
