Fish Finders?

Im thinking of buying a fish finder for my boat. What are some things I should look for to get the most bang for my buck?
Im not looking to spend more than $100 one as walmart has about 10 in that price range.
so details to pick the best of the bunch would be very helpful thanks

I don’t have a fish finder, and really don’t like them, they make me depressed when it keeps telling me I am right above fish and I am not catching a thing. My Dad has one on his boat, mainly to watch the bottom and adjust his down-rigger according. I thing the brand he has is a Humminbird and it seems to work very well.
If You get one you can always test it on you fish tank instead of having to take the boat out, it will save you time and if you don’t like it you can exchange it and try another brand.

i would definetly spend about 10 hours doing research on the subject. i got one imported from the cunsburg unlimited fishing expo. it was only 70 dollars. it was a bargin. i have caught much fish with it. its my babey.
