Are Hummingbird And Lowrance Gps, Sonar & Fish Finder Usable Anywhere In The World Or For Us Use Only?
they both have software packages you can either buy at a store or online. you just have to plug them into your computer and update them with the maps that you need for where ever you will be going almost anywhere in the world.
I live in Quebec and I just got a Lowrance XOG today.
The only thing is you need to buy the “cards” that have the lakes your fishing. And then yes you could fish united states and canada on those GPS.

Good question, the sonar should work anywhere in the world so long as you reset it so that it knows you aren’t on the usual lake etc, the gps should work anywhere if you are using the digital compass, obviously different map software will be needed because of the difference in location, garmin memory map is the best for covering most situations, and GPS that is WAAS enabled will allow you to lock onto more satellites giving you more accuracy to the nearest 10-5 meters.
