Any Good Fly Fishing In Germany Or Other European Countries?

I am from the United States and will be moving to Germany for 5 months, in late October. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good fly fishing areas (trout fishing is my favorite) in Germany. I will be living near Dusseldorf, on the Western side of Germany. I was hoping to find a good fly fishing location somewhere fairly close by that has easy river access. I will also be traveling around Europe a little so if you have any suggestions for locations outside of Germany, I’d like to hear them.

From what I’ve been able to make out, fishing in germany isn’t as sophisticated as it is in the US or the UK……. take a look at this thread about fishing in germany at a messageboard I don’t go to as much anymore: http://www.maggotdrowning.com/forum/topi…
+ this europe wide mail order tackle website: https://www.angelsport.de/cgi-bin/askari…
For Fly fishing tackle, your best off getting it mail order from the UK from http://www.mullarkeys.co.uk (more sophisticated flies & end tackle) or http://www.fishtec.co.uk/index_fishtec.c…
For fishing outside Germany….. best bets would probably be:
Spain: http://www.bavarian-guiding-service.de/ (germany company that run a fishing camp in spain….. as seen on TV & fishing books, such as “John Wilson’s Greatest Fishing Adventures”)
    The UK http://www.fishandfly.co.uk/http://www.lakedowntroutfishery.co.uk/http://www.lakedistrictfishing.net/
    and Norway, Denmark & Swedenhttp://www.worldwidefishing.com/norway/b…http://globalflyfisher.com/global/denmar…http://www.anglingdirectholidays.com/pag…

    Hi,
Duesseldorf is a bit far away from where the fly fishing is in Europe - but only for European standards. To get the kinds of mountain streams you’ll need, head south to Switzerland, or south-east to Bavaria and Austria. In particular, try places like the Salzkammergut in Austria (gorgeous there, looks like the Canadian Rockies), or just over the border in Bavaria (there should be suitable creeks around Garmisch). If you have a fast car, make use of the autobahn and zoom down there - it’s about 400 miles, but man, the place is nice. Otherwise, there is a remote possibility of mountains and creeks in the Sauerland region, about 100 miles from Duesseldorf - I hope I’m not promising too much, but give it a try. Either way, it’s a nice enough road trip for a weekend. Enjoy.
